Every year, thousands of Gray Whales pass by the Oregon Coast on their yearly migration from Mexico to the cooler Alaskan waters. As a result, mid-March to June is a great time to whale watch!
While some folks are adventurous enough to charter a boat to experience Whales in their natural habitat, breaking out the binoculars and searching for the impressive animals from solid ground is also an option!
For those at the Oregon coast for Oregon’s Spring Break, take advantage of Spring Whale Watch Week. During the week of March 21-18, volunteers are available at all the 24 locations along the Oregon coast to answer questions on just about the Oregon Coast – and whales, of course!
