The whales are coming!  The Spring Gray Whale migration begins in late March and extends through June. During these months 18,000 whales will pass by the Oregon Coastline on their way to Alaskan waters from the warmth of the Mexican lagoons.

This year, Spring Whale Watch Week is March 22-29, 2014.  Volunteers are available to answer questions and help spot migrating whales between 10 am and 1 pm at any one of the 24 “Whale Watching Spoken Here” sites along the Oregon Coast. Two of these sites, Boiler Bay State Scenic Viewpoint and The Whale Watching Center at Depoe Bay Seawall Park, are a few minutes South of Bella Beach.
